I ♥ Christmas. I start to want to “plan” it—mostly think on it—mid-year (June, July, August). Most people just roll their eyes at me. Holly doesn’t like me to talk about it because, she says, it gets her all excited and wanting Christmas, but the holiday is months away.
However! It turns out I have more friends willing to discuss it with me than I had previously thought. I used to talk to LA about it before she became an adult and had to work to pay bills. ^_~ I recently found out on our trip to Helen that Cassi likes Victorian(-esque) Christmas, too! Just a couple days ago, I discovered ederyn and cozzybob were not only willing to listen to my fantasies, but they joined in!
My ideal Christmas would take place up North—maybe not even on this continent. Somewhere that has a White Christmas. I’ve never had a White Christmas. We’re lucky if we get snow at all, and if we get any, the flurries generally show in February or March. Everyone would be invited: lots of family and friends. We’d all stay in this big mansion/castle.
There’d be a big dance hall with a live orchestra/band, and everyone would know the dances (waltzes, etc). There’d be part of a hallway overlooking the dancing, so little kids (or people sitting down and pretending to be little kids) could sit on the floor and watch the party through balusters. There’d be eggnog, mostly at ederyn‘s request. ^^ No rabbit! Sorry, cozzybob.
There’d be this gorgeous, huge, full tree (live, of course). Perhaps the guys would even go out and chop it down. It’d be awesomely decorated, as would the whole house. Each room might have its own theme, but overall, it’d all be the same. There wouldn’t be a tropical room and then a snowy room and the two look like they came from different houses. Under the tree would have plenty of gifts to fill up under the big tree. There’d also be beautiful fireplaces with nice stockings hung.
There’d be horsies pulling sleighs, and of course there’d be sleigh bells. There’d be snowmen, snow angels, and snowball fights.
